I AM FINALLY POSTING THIS.
Over the past summer we got a chance to visit Los Angeles, California and I couldn’t be more excited. We are talking California here. Are you kidding me?
My mom planned this vacation to see some of our relatives that live there for quite some time. It was a 5-hour plane journey and we are going to stay there for about 10 days. Just enough time to roam around the city. (Side note: we visited Las Vegas for the 4th of July – which is pretty awesome)
We landed in LAX around 9-ish in the evening and I’m just so overwhelmed that we are finally in Los Angeles. There’s a lot of people and it feels like I’m in Manila for a second. Oops!
I am fangirling so hard when I saw a Palm Tree on our way to my Aunt’s place! LOL! Tourist moment for me!
The next day we immediately went to Universal Studios because why the hell not? Never mind the jet lag because of the time difference, Jaicel, you are in LOS ANGELES. No time to waste.
PS. There’s going to be a lot of photos here so bear with me. This is just our first day in LA so I might do more parts of this soon!
Here are some of the photos as we enter the Universal Studios!
It was a 20-minute drive from my Aunt’s house. Like how cool is it to live 20-mins away from this place that everyone is dreaming about?
And for those who didn’t know, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is also located inside the Universal Studios. To be honest, this is the only thing I’m looking forward throughout our LA trip. It’s my childhood dream coming to life. Harry Potter for me is everything and I just can’t describe how excited I am while buying the tix online.
The WWOHP is probably way bigger in Florida because it’s a separate place as oppose to this one that it is just a part of the Universal Studios. But the cool thing about here is you get to see both places at the same time. Win win!
We get to see what’s inside the castle too. The details are on point! No doubt about that. And they offer a short 4D ride inside which is just the best thing in the world. It really feels like you’re with Harry, Ron and Hermione riding a broomstick on the Hogwarts grounds. SUPERB!
More photos as you scroll down.
Being here is really a dream come true. It is something that every Harry Potter fan should experience. I wish I can bring all my Potterhead friends along with me so we can freak out together and roam around our dream place.
We also bought our wands! I got Dumbledore’s and my brother got Sirius’. I initially wanted Malfoy’s but because his doesn’t have a chip installed version that you can use inside the castle, I got Professor Dumledore’s instead. (For reference, the wands costs us around $50-60 each)
After our Harry Potter moment, we decided to go Universal Studios bus tour. COOLEST THING IN THE WORLD (TOO).
We get to see everything Universal Studios has to offer and of course all the setting of the legendary TV series and movies. Every Communications student’s dream! (Or is it?)

I think this is the biggest studio they have cause this is the original one. Although they still have one in Singapore and in Florida, this one is the first ever so basically all the iconic movies are filmed here. IT’S CRAZY TO THINK ABOUT IT.
We also took a photo with Scooby Doo and Velma!! Yuhoo!
All in all, this is really good start for our FIRST DAY in LA! We get to experience all these wonderful stuff and I couldn’t be more grateful. Such a fun way to welcome summer!
We are not yet sure where are we going next summer though. Either in Florida or in Hawaii. Wherever we may go, I’m sure it’s gonna be a blast!
The next part of this series would probably our Las Vegas or Santa Monica Pier or Disneyland trip. I’m not yet sure! But I can’t wait to share it to you guys!
How about you? How’s your summer 2016? Send me some links in the comments so I can read all your fun times under the sun too!
